We have been busy in fifth grade.   We have been working on our science fair projects and demonstrating our knowledge of the scientific process.  We are anxiously awaiting the end of the school year and all the special events in the next few weeks.

Our class is participating in "The Great Mail Race", corresponding with other fifth grade classrooms across the United States.  We are anxiously awaiting responses from the other schools and are looking forward to sharing our Louisiana culture with them and learning about their cultures and schools as well.

During the week of May 4 - 8 we will be taking our end of the year Edusoft assessments to demonstrate how much we have learned and grown in the last school year.

We will travel to Southern University on Friday, May 8 for our D.A.R.E. graduation.  We will have a special event on Friday, May 8th to reward students with good behavior.  Our fifth grade "day" including our cookout, will be held on May 14th.  And finally, the finale of our fifth grade year - The Fifth Grade Promotion Ceremony, which will be held on Friday, May 15th.
